De Lane Lea have recently finished mixing major blockbuster hits including Andrew Adamson’s next installment of the Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian along with our loudest project to date, Guillermo Del Torro’s hugely anticipated sequel Hell Boy II: The Golden Army. We were honoured to work on these fabulous productions and would like to thank all staff and freelancers involved who worked tirelessly on these titles.
For the months ahead our studios are extremely busy. We are eagerly anticipating (and delighted to welcome back) Bond 22, Quantum of Solace directed by Marc Forster starring Daniel Craig and Judi Dench.
Recent television work includes the book adaptation of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas which is set in a concentration camp during World War II. Along side this Adrian Rhodes has just finished the re-recording of HBO’s My Zinc Bed starring Uma Thurman, Paddy Considine and Jonathan Pryce which is due for release at the end of the year.
Our in house mixer Chris Burdon has just completed some incredible original titles including Incendiary starring Ewan McGregor and Michelle Williams and the teen comedy Wild Child. Sven Taits and Doug Cooper have also just finished a beautiful Disney Nature documentary film shot in Tanzania about the life cycle of flamingos: The Crimson Wing: Mystery of the Flamingos.
Our ADR sound stages are as busy as ever with such productions as the new X-Files movie I Want to Believe, HBO’s Generation Kill, Spooks, Boogie Woogie, ITV’s Christmas drama Clash of the Santas and Quantum of Solace filling the schedules.
We are proud to announce that Stardust, and Sweeney Todd, both of which were mixed at De Lane Lea have been shortlisted for Best Audio Soundtrack in films over £10m, and Chris Burdon has been shortlisted for best re-recording mixer in the Conch Awards coming up in September.
Lastly we are proud to announce the installation of a new IP based KVM system in Studio 1, allowing any Pro Tools rig to be quickly accessed from any workstation in the studio. The KVM works over a Local Area Network, and provides high quality DVI video and audio. We have also recently upgraded the software on both DFCs to version 5.3, as well as a 12 stem upgrade-providing improved functionality and power, essential as film mixes become increasingly complex.
